Raguel in this story gets casted down to earth by his peers and has to reprove himself as an angel. This drawing is an alternate universe where he was cast down to hell for losing faith in god. The red tones symbolize danger and his anger toward the angels, while orange represents hellfire. The black clouds and gray on his wings signify corruption by evil and his death as an angel. Purple accents reflect religion and royalty which is shown fading. The white fading into black shows his purity being rusted by sin, and the top-down perspective mirrors heaven’s view of him as inferior, and his wing covering one eye reflects him always watching. The title, ‘Why?’ is his questions on why things unfold as God intends, which echo Raguel’s loss of faith.
